What players think
The recurring themes across 127 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The narrative, while not groundbreaking, is delivered with enough intrigue and ambiguity to keep players invested, and the blend of religious symbolism, psychological decay, and demonic influence evokes a timeless type of fear—the kind rooted in forbidden knowledge and human frailty.
The game’s possession mechanic adds an extra layer of tension, subtly shifting the environment to reflect the growing influence of the demonic presence.
The environment feels lived-in yet tainted by decay, and the game’s lighting system—crafted using Profenix’s in-house S2 Engine—does much of the heavy lifting in creating tension.
The sound design deserves particular praise; footsteps echo with convincing weight, ambient noises seem to follow you down hallways, and the music swells sparingly, allowing the stillness itself to become a source of terror.
