What players think
The recurring themes across 286 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Midnight Protocol is a hacking themed puzzle game with RPG elements and a strong central narrative.
And if you've played games like Uplink, Hacknet, Nite Team 4, or even the hacking part of the new Shadowrun games, you'll be familiar with most parts of the gameplay.
But the game is quite forgiving and as long as you have a program or piece of hardware in your inventory, you can easily rollback the hack and re-equip what you need to start that hack over.
The graphics defintly do not go to waste on the SteamDeck, it's fun to carry a 'puzzle'like game as Midnight Protocol with you and being able to play it where you go, the performance worked very well and I didn't experience any lag on the Deck.
The soundtrack is great and a wonderful addition to the immersion and intensity during most missions.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 4 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
