What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Amazing depth, good gameplay (I think), one of the most unpleseant UI's I've used in 30+ years of gaming.
The learning curve is undeniably steep and may discourage players looking for a lighter strategy experience.
I'll write more later but just in the first couple minutes; dig the new graphics, cards are easier to read.
The mix of genre: strong cardboard wargame base (full total strongly complex logistics, OOB, HQs, hyper-detailed combat system...), a lot of mock RPG with leaders, a drop of 4x with research, city management, buildings, units design, politics & cults, an icing on the cake: card game!
What truly keeps me coming back, even after hundreds of hours, is the emergent narrative.
Solid for multiplayer experience too, though there are no dedicated servers and turns can't be played simultaneously.
