And yet the cute graphics, interesting premise, and quirky dialogue immediately create a sense of child-like wonder and exploration that never leaves until the credits roll.

But for what it offers—light-hearted humor, a cozy atmosphere, and accessible gameplay—it succeeds.

Each costume transforms the character into what the costume represents when you enter combat, a brilliant idea that makes you feel like your imagination is making it happen, as it did as kids.

Has the classic Double Fine charm, some of the dialogue are pretty funny and visual gags are top notch with great timing as well and finally has very cute visuals but it ends up a bit repetitive and performance issues are a-plenty.

The difficulty spike that separates the whole affair leading up to the final boss, which you can confortably play in your sleep pretty much, and the final boss itself was a good knee slapper, reminded me of the Gen 4 remakes, always a good sign.

Even without voice acting, the characters’ personalities shine through the dialogue, which is written with Double Fine’s signature wit.
