Red Wings: Aces of the Sky

Gameplay is pure arcade fun at first with old-school slow planes, the ability to roll and avoid damage, and infinite ammo with a heat limit.

It has a modest but perfectly executed art style, it has upgrades, skins and challenges.

I enjoyed the casual game play, the smooth controls (with my Xbox 360 controller) and the cartoonish but nice looks.

As for gameplay, Red Wings is a short-term enjoyable experience (despite the controls) with a lively comic shaded aesthetic, large mission list, couch co-op campaign & versus mode; although these qualities and the game degrade as playtime progresses due to:

Ps: It's more fun than any of the ace combat games I've played, and i played many.

This recommendation comes with a couple of big caveats: the game is better in co-op, and the difficulty spikes quite a lot for the finale, so you'll want two good flight gamers to get the most out of this, not to mention a big screen for the split-screen co-op view.
