What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Punishing, button-smashing combat as frenetic yet smooth and satisfying as was Hades.
The story is dark and foreboding, using religious motifs and questionable moral dilemmas to shock and often catch its players off guard.
STYLE – Visuals (5/5!) | Music (4/5) | Sound (5/5!) If you’re not a huge fan of hard games, I still humbly suggest checking out There Is No Light if only to redefine what you think pixel art is capable of.
Creative use of lighting and perspective only further amplify this game’s already stellar visual aesthetic that when coupled with its exceptional, often unsettling sound design makes for a truly mesmerizing audio-visual experience.
Other than that, the performance is stable, even on the Steam deck.
