Story and characters
Players who bring up Story and characters mostly praise it.
Yes, there are cliches and reused elements here and there, but as a whole it comes together as a distinct universe, with interesting places, factions and several memorable characters you can get invested in

Gameplay
Players who bring up Gameplay mostly praise it.
- plenty of variety in terms of gameplay, lots of cool side missions (loved them!), puzzles (loved them! - many simple or cookie-cutter ones, but quite a few creative and fun ones), random jobs and encounters of many different types, racing, nice achievements to hunt for, there is always something else to do when you get bored with one activity (but if you just want combat, there's plenty of it as well!)

Graphics
Players who bring up Graphics mostly praise it.
I run it on higher settings for the amazing visuals, on a 1080p monitor, and my RTX 3060 with my Core i5-13600KF can mostly handle it just fine.

Audio
Players who bring up Audio mostly praise it.
Much of the voice acting was super overacted and some of the characters like Maddox are just annoying and cringe.

Controls
Players who bring up Controls mostly praise it.
On a whim I decided to try playing it again and decided I'd use my controller this time and this game is so good - the story is good, the exploration is amazing fun, the weapons and progression feel meaningful, hell even getting the ship colour upgrades from defeating enemies feels satisfying, even if it is just another shade of grey :)

Optimization
Players who bring up Optimization mostly praise it.
I think they did zero optimization for Mac as most games that are made to run on Mac run flawlessly on it.
