For a day 1 play I managed to finish the entire campaign as Yume in under roughly 2 hours.

Of course, it helps that the gameplay is fun, as well, although my favorite part of the game was the comedy and references — But I will describe that aspect in more detail later on.

Graphics
Players who bring up Graphics mostly praise it.
i find very hard to recommend this game, it had everything to be great, improved graphics from phantom breaker overdrive, a less chibi art style, and what looked like a deep combat akin to overdrive, sadly that is not the case, while the voice acting presentation and graphics of ogre tale are amon the best on the anime beat em up sub-genre the actual gameplay lacks far too much in variety, QoL to not just become a mashing nightmare or quite simply boring. overdrive had a large cast of characters that had their own unique traits, 3 specials, a ligh and heavy attack and a level up system akin to river city ramson that made the combat feel very fun and distinct, ogre tale removes pretty much all of that, makes a dull, slow paced and repetitive beat em up, is honestly one of the few game i regret buying

Interface
Players who bring up Interface mostly praise it.
The more the player advances with the story, the more skills are getting unlocked, although some of them require special tasks to be completed, which can be looked up in the menu any time, along with their progress.
