What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Summary: Evan's Remains provides a mixed experience, prioritizing its engaging story over its puzzle platforming elements.
I felt satisfied when I finished the most difficult puzzles and the story drove me to keep trying, the selling point to this game would be the visuals, the background, sky and water is so soothing that I could walk on this beach forever.
The platforming sections offer simple yet enjoyable gameplay, enhanced by attractive visuals and suitable music.
The soundtrack is also great, with a bunch of atmospheric/electronic tracks that feel reminiscent of old-school chiptune music.
Also, I played through the entire thing on a steam deck without issue.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
