What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Similar to Monster Train, you choose 2 (currently of 4) heroes with their own decks and specialisations, allowing for 6 combinations of unique decks that make the game somewhat replayable. 6 combinations may not be much for now, but further characters will exponentially increase the replayability of the game and is a very obvious target for DLC.
On top of that, there's a rewarding meta-progression system and an excellent epilogue mode that effectively serves as an evolving difficulty system.
As I like to disclaim, I play a lot of true Roguelike games such as Nethack, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup and Angband (often in pure ASCII mode, or low quality tile modes) so graphics are honestly not a huge sell point for me.
The soundtrack does its job well without becoming repetitive, the user interface is clean, and the overall presentation is polished.
Still, fun for a bit and maybe I will grind out those last upgrades on the Steamdeck.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
