Crystal Heart is relatively conventional and essentially linear/level-based; Bloodrite branches out into some truly huge hub/branch areas with puzzles and mini-quests.
The gameplay is top notch.
+Hard-hitting sound effects and satisfying combat
There are a few more straight forward/self-contained FPS levels that occur before, after, and inbetween these "hub zone" levels.
Maybe this is part of GZDoom (some sort of method of simulating dynamic lighting)?
