the art style is charming, but its implementation in the dungeons can make it hard to tell which spots are actually walkable or where to go. the music is good, but it doesn't quite have any tracks i'll go out of my way to listen to outside of the game. the story, too, is perfectly serviceable, if a bit basic. i'm happy with my first ending, but i don't particularly feel like going back and replaying the whole thing again just to see the other option(s). the dynamic narration gimmick was hit or miss for me; there were definitely times where i'd have preferred silence to a constant voice yapping in my ear about how many boxes i'm breaking, or whatever.
silky smooth gameplay and optimization done by Gavin Simon and Andrew Wang. the thing ran great even back in 2011 — you'll have no issues with it today.
an immaculate soundtrack to accompany you everywhere you flop, thanks to the now critically acclaimed Darren Korb (+ Ashley Barrett for THE song).
it offers stellar world building, stunning visuals, tight action, varied combat, superb audio and perfect pacing.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
