I also only ever play in sandbox mode, so I honestly can't speak on how good the campaign or missions are.
+ You can progress very quickly or make it hard and every choice meaningful, while building up a gigantic empire over 170 years of tech progression.
I'd like to see better graphics which will be seen in Transport Fever 3 and better AI.
Optimization of track laying splines is also doo-doo.
While parts of the interface and some gameplay features could still use a bit more polish, none of these issues are significant tho.
Beautiful visuals, excellent sound design, fantastic soundtrack, and in-game station clocks showing your CPU time and "just a couple of more minutes" turns into literally a couple of hours.
