The art design is charming and clearly some effort went into writing the various museum display anecdotes.
I was initially drawn to A Monster's Expedition for its charming art style and theme—I particularly liked the idea of roaming around an archipelago while solving small puzzles and being able to simply drop a tough area and explore somewhere else when I grew tired of my current path.
The ambient soundtrack matches the tone: calm and unobtrusive, though not particularly memorable.
Moreover, the soothing music and clean interface also help in setting the overall atmosphere.
