What players think
The recurring themes across 86 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Wanderlust: Travel Stories, developed by Different Tales and published by Different Tales and Pretty Soon, is an unconventional narrative experience that seeks to capture the essence of travel through introspection rather than spectacle.
Gameplay: While it is overall quite enjoyable, there are some times where it does drag on and on and on and on, and while this is typically done for story reasons (drifting around the Antarctic on a sailing yacht via wind and wave is going to be pretty tedious and slow) that doesn't make it any less disagreeable from a gameplay enjoyment perspective; it's no fun waiting and waiting for something (ANYTHING!)
I love that there are photographs, maps and sound effects that accompany the written narrative making it all the more engaging.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
