Tactical Breach Wizards has interesting things to say about game design, dialogue writing, and psychology.
The optional objectives in each level keep each puzzle engaging even if the main objective won't stop you, and the fact that the optional objectives don't have any gameplay benefit for completing means I never felt forced to go back and retry a level for them.
Tactical Breach Wizards is a great TBT game with an original world building, characters and game mechanics that are fun to use and combine with others, offering a lot of tactical options to complete the several mini-map combat encounters.
The graphics have the usual indie “Unity look” cell shading of geometric shapes, that works very well on the maps and small figures, but up close on the dialogues I think a more realistic approach made with illustration or even still photos would work better than the plain cell shaded featureless faces.
Played on LCD512 Steam Deck, it ran perfectly with only minor preference modifications to the default control scheme.
Yeah it's SICKENING just how engaging it was to me, the dialogue IS fun & snappy, It's especially fun if you give every character a goofy accent like I do when voice acting them.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
