For example, the best possible party is 4 melee because the AOE spells (like Healing Blunderbuss, Healing Totem etc) are insanely more efficient than single-target heals.

The game was less buggy (obviously due to constant updates), there seems to be a decent bit of polish to the graphics which spiced up the game i would be looking at for my admittedly short time playing., Finally there were obvious indicators of what i would be doing( the progression bar as you moved through different areas, which the version i played before didn't have).
