I like the crests and while they are pretty neat how they change your gameplay, they do not make up for the lack of interesting charms (seriously who uses that one charm that leaves a crystal copy of yourself when you get damaged, who is that for?) The rosaries were definitely an early game issue but I don’t think skill issue.
