What players think
The recurring themes across 166 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Lord Winklebottom Investigates is an anthropomorphic point and click adventure game inspired by Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie, which relies heavily on dialogue and problem solving.
The voice acting is superb, and the puzzles are quite challenging and show originality in places.
The graphics are somewhat unique, it is all hand painted which gives it a more cartoonish feel and look, one that compliments the humorous and cartoonish story well, each of the characters is well designed and the player is able to tell what each is supposed to be and all of the items are also clear as to what they should be.
Playability & Replayability
- there are a several small/thin interactive items that are too easy to overlook; not quite "hunt the pixel" of old days, but there's no option to highlight every object in the scene like other modern point-and-click adventures
